Welcome to iveals, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 most funny cartoon series. For this list, we are honoring the animated series that have kids and adults roaring with laughter. However, we’re excluding stop motion series for this time.

Unlike most cartoons at the time, the storyboard directors wrote each episode’s dialogue while they worked on the panels, allowing the sight gags and dialogue to work together perfectly. There’s a chance SpongeBob may have overstayed his welcome, but viewers can’t deny the laughter this little Sponge has given kids and adults over the years.

07 Rick & Morty

Most kids hear stories from their grandpas. Morty makes and lives through his own stories by traveling to alternate dimensions with his alcoholic, off his nut, grandpa Rick.

A loose parody of Doc Brown and Marty McFly’s adventures, this funny cartoon series is crude and bizarre, with plenty of taboo subjects blended together with vast Sci-Fi settings. Both nominal characters contribute to the fun & humor, and both are voiced by the same co-creator Justin Roiland.

Filled with bizarre visual gags, self-awareness, and Rick dragging Morty into dangerous and abnormal situations, the show is able to balance its wackier side thanks to the depth of its flawed protagonists.

You’d think the cartoon family game would be pretty stale by the 2010s, but Bob’s burgers prove time and time again that the Belchers are a relatable and lovably dysfunctional family.

This top funny cartoon series delivers clever gags and puns galore with a seemingly revolving door of celebrity voice appearances to keep the show fresh. Whether you relate to Bob’s low-key dedication to his restaurant and family.

Tina’s love of butts, Jean’s lack of awareness, or Louise’s ruthlessness, Bob’s burgers prove it’s found the recipe for a successful and modern animated series.

05 Family Guy

This funny cartoon series that put him on the map, though, was none other than Fox’s Family Guy. Modeled after McFarlane’s early short films, this animated sitcom follows the dysfunctional Griffin family in the made-up town of Cohog, Rhode Island.

It earned legions of fans thanks to its modern culture references shown through fun cutaway gags, toe tapping musical numbers, and the bond between Stewie and Brian.

Unfortunately, some of the series jokes can be distasteful and cause controversy. This, along with low ratings, caused its first cancellation in 2003. However, DVD sales brought the Griffins back on the air where they belong.

Trey Parker in Matt Stone’s South Park follows the misadventures of four potty mouthed grade school kids in the titular town, where insane happenings occur on a daily basis. To describe this funny cartoon series, there are two words, crude & quick. Crude, because humor of this funny cartoon series is filled with television taboos galore, and quick, because every episode of this series is made within a week, enabling it to satirize current situations.

Straddling the line between idiotic and intelligent humor, South Park taught us to laugh again in a post 911 world, thanks to four kids in a quiet mountain town.

03 Futurama

Turns out the future may not be so different from the past. That’s what Philip J. Fry discovers when he accidentally ends up frozen in time and wakes up a thousand years in the future. Now he’s working as a delivery boy alongside a strict cyclopean woman and an alcoholic robot with an attitude. Created by the Simpsons, Matt Granny Futurama is no stranger to high and lowbrow comedy.

This cartoon series is mixed with cultural references & locations that satirize the modern life. Also, this Sci-Fi sitcom funny cartoon series knows how to tickle the funny bones of geeks as well. With its nerdy jokes and memorable memes. It’s no wonder fans of this cartoon series kept asking for more, even after final episode.

This goofy cast has been getting laughs since the 1930s. The Looney Tunes are practically icons of animated comedy. With hysterically memorable characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Quirky Pig, Wiley Coyote, the Roadrunner, and so on. What began as an attempt to compete with Disney’s Mickey Mouse shorts quickly turned into a comedy legacy full of satire, animated slapstick, wacky antics, and quotable catchphrases.

Also, after the film shorts were aired on network and syndicated tv, this funny cartoon series went on to spawn tv series as well as inspire animated comedies, especially Animaniacs, and have been named some of the best cartoons of all time. Though it’s hard to recreate the charm of the originals, the Looney Tunes cartoon series have still managed to bring the humor in modern reboots.

Taking our number one spot is the longest running animated sitcom cartoon series family to date. Many grow up with this average modern family started in average town of Springfield. It’s highly likely that most of you have quoted the sitcom’s hilarious catchphrases, can recognize at least half of this large ensemble of characters, or have burst out laughing at its visual gags and cultural humor, as well as the antics of Bart and Homer.

Also, some jokes may have been more than a bit controversial, but creator Matt Graning knows that real comedy will always offend somebody.

These yellow characters have inspired many sitcoms to date, including a certain family guy. Some may think the series overstayed its welcome, but the Simpsons comedy legacy will last forever.
